Saliva alcohol test 0.2-3.0 per mille
The alcohol test is intended to be used as a rapid test to detect the presence of alcohol in saliva for blood alcohol concentration (BAC) greater than 0.2 parts per thousand (‰). It is generally known that the alcohol concentration in saliva is almost equal to that in blood.
The package contains a disposable test (test strip) for the determination of blood alcohol content.
The test is very sensitive even to small amounts of alcohol and it is made from a saliva sample.
Even a small reaction means that the person is under the influence.
How to perform it
1. Remove the test stick from the foil pouch.
2. Dip the stick in saliva or apply saliva directly to the reaction pad of the test stick (at one end). After 10 seconds, remove the saliva (shake the test stick).
3. Wait 2 minutes and read the answer by comparing the color cover of the test stick with the color scale printed on the package. NOTE! Do not wait longer than 2 minutes to read the answer.
Interpretation of results:
NEGATIVE:
White (no color wrap): 0.0mg/100ml = <20mg/dL = <0.02% = <0.2 ‰ (per mil)
POSITIVE:
Light blue shade: 20mg/dL = 0.02% = 0.2 ‰ (per thousand)
Light blue: 40mg/dL = 0.04% = 0.4 ‰ (per thousand)
Blue: 80mg/dL = 0.08% = 0.8 ‰ (per thousand)
Clear blue: 300mg/dL = 0.3% = 3.0 ‰ (per thousand)
