Syphilis is a common sexually transmitted infection in Sweden. Once nearly eradicated, it has now made a strong comeback. This test detects syphilis (Treponema Pallidum, abbreviated TP) by identifying two specific antibodies. It works by measuring TP levels directly from a small blood sample taken from a fingertip.

The blood is applied to a test cassette containing a membrane with two antibodies that bind to the syphilis antigen (TP) if present.

Instructions for use:

1. Clean your finger
2. Use the lancet to prick the fingertip
3. Collect 2–3 drops of blood with the pipette
4. Add 2 drops of blood to the test cassette well (S)
5. Then add 1 drop of buffer
6. Wait 5 minutes and read the result
