Our Chlamydia test is a rapid test to qualitatively detect the chlamydia antigen located at the cervix (female) or urethra (male), which provides results after 5-10 minutes. The test uses an antibody that is specific for chlamydia (chlamydia trachomatis). The accuracy is 97.2% and its performance has been evaluated in clinical trials.This product is CE marked for professional use by healthcare professionals. Chlamydia is one of the most common and fastest-spreading sexually transmitted diseases among young people and many are affected without knowing it. Without treatment, chlamydia can lead to sterility in both men and women. It is therefore important to test yourself if you have had unprotected sex. In 2015, 36,000 chlamydia cases were reported in Sweden.How do you get infected?
Through sexual intercourse without a condom when the mucous membranes come into contact with each other. This also applies to anal intercourse and oral sex. Chlamydia is not transmitted through handshakes, sauna benches, clothes, towels or toilets. During childbirth, the baby can also be infected by the mother if she has chlamydia, with complications as a result.Symptoms
Most people, both men and women, who are infected with chlamydia have no symptoms but can still pass the infection on. Symptoms, if they are present, appear one to three weeks after infection. The most common symptom in both men and women is that it burns when urinating. Discharge from the urethra, pain or swelling in the scrotum, bleeding (in women), pain in the lower abdomen and pain during intercourse are other symptoms.

Chlamydia is one of the sexually transmitted diseases that is notifiable according to the Swedish Infectious Diseases Act. User instructions
Do not urinate for at least one hour before the test is performed!1. A) VAGINA (WOMAN). Insert the swab into the vaginal canal until most of the tip is no longer visible. Rotate the tip 360 degrees in one direction (clockwise or counterclockwise), and let stand for 15 seconds. Withdraw the swab from the vagina. Try to avoid contamination from vaginal cells or external mucus/secretion. 1.1. B) URETHRAL TUBE (Male). Insert the swab into the urethral canal approximately 2-4 cm. Rotate the swab 360 degrees in one direction (clockwise or counterclockwise), let stand for 15 seconds, and then withdraw the swab from the urethra.2. Place the swab in the test tube and add 5 drops of reagent A. Squeeze the tip by pressing the outside of the test tube at the bottom of the tube and rotate in the water 15 times. Let stand for 2 minutes.
3. Add 4 drops of reagent B to the test tube. The solution will become cloudy. Rotate in the water 15 times until the solution changes to a clear color with a slight green or blue tint. If the water is bloody, the color will be yellow or brown. Let stand for 1 minute.
4. Lift the swab and squeeze out the liquid into the test tube. Discard the swab. Keep as much liquid in the tube as possible.
5. Attach the dropper to the test tube.
6. Squeeze 3 full drops of the extracted solution into the sample well (S) of the test cassette and read the result after 5-10 min.

Result
Description

Positive : Two shaded (pink-purple) lines appear in both the control region and the test region.
Negative : Only one shaded (pink-purple) line appears in the control region.
Invalid : If there is no clear pink-purple band visible in both the TEST and CONTROL regions, the test is invalid. It is recommended that the test be repeated in this case.Contents:

The test uses an antibody specific for gonorrhea ( Neisseria gonorrhoeae ). The accuracy is 99.1% and ISO certified and its performance has been evaluated in clinical trials.
